Day 2 update: Although it’s still simple to perform, the inside fastener screws might have one with larger heads and one with shorter or shorter anchors. Arrived in fine condition, but there was no off switch since you had to turn the furnace off or unplug it by turning it to the lowest level, or make sure you had a cable for a fan and an off button.
It is shown without an off switch. No way to install it, you have to disassemble the breastplate to access the screws and run the wires, according to a custom image. If you read the supplied directions, the product is very straightforward to install, simple to operate, and of good value. I don’t see any issues, yet a female lineman installed it. 🙂 Day 2 update: Very good stuff for the money

I’ve tried this Honeywell thermostat and a few others that are more powerful, but I can’t get a 2 wire vintage floor gas heater to work. After many hours and tests, I was finally able to consistently turn on and off the gas heater by connecting and disconnecting the two wires from a AAA battery. Our antique gas heater appears to require a tiny current to operate. While other Honeywell thermostats that do require batteries have also failed in our experience, this one does not.
