My three-year-old Vine smart thermostat needs to be replaced. I recently gave the Amazon thermostat a try, and I found it to be a boring abysmal failure. I primarily selected the charcoal Nest thermostat due to its appearance and cost. I found the extremely nice charcoal thermostat with a glossy face when I opened the extravagant packing (which seems to be how all electronics are now). I then started the installation. Installing was easy. Because it is so little, there is a gaping hole left by the screw holes, which had to be placed more to the right than the original one and do not fill the former area.

I figured installing the thermostat wouldn’t be too difficult since my apartment included installation instructions for the earlier model. HARD. Very difficult, but not necessary. Google essentially does not want you to install it yourself. The lack of labeling on my old thermostat may have contributed to the problem. If it does, the Google Home app will take you through where everything belongs. The Google app for establishing default temps isn’t very user-friendly, so I wasn’t too satisfied with it.
