The pairing instructions within are deceptive, to start. This small detail is not included in the instructions, therefore I had to contact Wiz support to learn how to link the wireless button in the Wiz app. Not sure why, but when I first installed it, it managed to control only 1 bulb.

I then removed and added it again from the app and was able to control 3, did the same thing again and now I can control 4 out of the 5 bulbs. The button is working as expected and has a built-in magnet so it can be placed on the refrigerator, main door, etc.

As of now, so nice! The fact that “Do not use this dimmer to operate WiZ smart lights or other brands of smart bulbs” was not made obvious to me until I read the package’s back is my sole concern. As far as I’m aware, WiZ just makes their remote to control the lights; no manual switches.

I ultimately used one of these with regular, dimmable LEDs in a different room of my home. I had hard-attached cables for connecting to the house wiring on the fixture I was replacing. As the WiZ dimmer does not come with any, I had to hunt for a few short lengths of appropriate wire. Connecting was quite simple.

It functions but strangely forgets its schedule if the wifi is cut off but the electricity is left on. Additionally, because the switch’s moveable portion extends all the way to the edge of the panel specification, you must be extremely cautious while aligning it with the faceplate (and nearby switches, if the switches are ganged), lest it snags on the wallplate and become stuck. But I’m keeping it since it’s so much more useful than typical digital timer switches.

Compared to a couple of other comparable items I previously had, it has a smaller profile, which is helpful for power strip space. Useful for a gadget that periodically needs the “simply unplug it and plug it back in” repair and has a hard-to-reach plug.
