Almost everything in my house is controlled by some variation of these switches. I started replacing my switches with Gen1 switches a few years ago, and I recently finished with Gen2 switches. These are the only switches not on my bathroom exhaust fans. I’ve written a lot here, so congratulations if you’ve made it this far.

Great results! Most other timers have an IP rating yet are 1000 watts in power! So, other than one of those dongle Christmas light plug switch things, this was the only switch I saw for my hot pot and splashes. The only issue was that the password for my wifi (for some products) is the wifi key. This was not the switches’ fault; rather, it was my own mistake for forgetting. I skipped trying Alexa. I will buy more.

The companion switches/dimmers (DAWSC/DAWDC) function well and need little setup time. However, I deducted one point since, unlike other Decora smart switches, this switch’s color cannot be changed with a color change kit. The switch/dimmer is slightly different from the other decora smart ones, however, you may add a different color plate. This is due to the fact that it has hinges on one side, allowing it to be opened and closed in order to change the two lithium-ion R2025 batteries within. Because of this, it is not compatible with color change kits.

They are fantastic when they function. I had 12 since I enjoyed them so much. But after a few years, they begin to fall apart. They become unresponsive while turned on. I have unsuccessfully attempted every reset suggestion. They have been failing one by one almost every month for the past few months. 4 attempts have failed thus far.

How is a Leviton smart plug programmed?
Switch to programming mode. The Locator LED will start to blink amber after holding the control button down for 7 seconds. One tap on the control button will do. Green will flash swiftly on the Locator LED. The Z-Wave® network is ready to accept the Decora SmartTM device.

Why won’t my Leviton work?
Ensure that your copy of the My Leviton App is the most recent. Check for a My Leviton app update on the Apple App store or Google Play store to make sure you are using the most recent version of the application. Try using a different mobile device or tablet running the My Leviton app, if one is available.

Why won’t my smart plug establish a connection to the web?
Ensure that your Amazon Smart Plug and your Alexa device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Verify that the associated device is no more than 30 feet (9 meters) from the Amazon Smart Plug. Press and hold the button on the side of the device for 12 seconds to reset your Amazon Smart Plug. then reinstall Amazon Smart Plug.

Can a smart plug be controlled from anywhere?

My Leviton is glowing red; why?
One sign that the GFCI may have found a possible issue during a self-test is a steady or flickering red light. To reset the GFCI in this situation, just push the TEST and RESET buttons. You’re fine to go if the device restarts.

Why is my Leviton equipment not working?
Simply push the up paddle or button, keep it in place for three to five seconds, and then let go. The system is rebooted and put into diagnostic mode. When you release the button, pay attention to the color pattern that flashes on the LED at the bottom. Check your app to see whether the device has returned to service after a minute.

When Wi-Fi is unavailable, what happens to smart plugs?
Many Wi-Fi-based plugs and switches will still function even without an internet connection, but some of the more sophisticated features, like voice control, won’t.

Why is the green flickering on my Leviton?
Make sure the Leviton accessory is connected correctly and that power is turned on. The Locator LED will blink green when the attachment is first powered up to indicate that it is ready. When you are prepared to install the attachment, if the Locator LED is not glowing green, follow to the WAC Reset method.

What occurs if the power LED blinks?
When the devices are powered by their original power supply, these LED lights need to typically be illuminated continuously. It may indicate a power problem between the TX and RX if you see the POWER LED blinking.
