Heedful Ratings

James from Arizona
These smart outlets are simple to install, offer a wide range of capabilities through the Smart Life app (which is accessible through the App Store and Google Play), and can be automated after they are set up and ready for use. Not to mention the voice-activated simplicity of usage once Alexa or Google Home Assistant is included

Good product; simple installation. Very practical and enables you to insert grounded plugs with three pins into your outlets. The fact that you must specify the planned on and off timings in military hours is the sole drawback to this device. It’s inconvenient that most people don’t observe military time. To program it correctly, you must find a military time to standard time graphic or diagram online.

I need to download an app in order to utilize the SmartPlugs, I see it when I open the package. Its name is Cloud Intelligence. I have no reason to believe that the software is not compromising my data in any way. I tried a number of other programs, but none of them will connect the plugs. I caved and downloaded the application. I linked it to Google Home rather quickly after that and can now use my voice to turn on and off lights. The scheduling function cannot be used through Google Home, thus you must open their app. Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase, however, they definitely have to think about renaming their app. It gives me little reason to believe in security.

BRAVO from California
Yes, I can use Alexa to operate them, but first I had to download an app from the maker and provide Alexa access to the app in order to use it. These cannot be accessed or viewed by Alexa right out of the box. Because I’ve already gone through the growing pains and because I don’t want to overload my phone with applications if I buy a different brand, I would repurchase them. I would advise, with the qualification that you are aware that you must deal with a different app.

FAQ’s

Does every smart plug require 2.4 GHz?
No matter the manufacturer, all smart devices can only operate with a 2.4 GHz signal. You may experience connection problems if your router broadcasts a 5 GHz signal since your smart device can only receive the 2.4 GHz signal.

How should I connect to 2.4 GHz?
To connect devices for low bandwidth activities like web browsing, you should ideally use the 2.4GHz frequency. The ideal frequency for high-bandwidth devices or activities, however, such as gaming and streaming HDTV, is 5GHz.

Why only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is compatible with smart plugs?
For the longest possible range, the smart plug employs a 2.4 GHz WiFi radio frequency. The main need is a range because there is no need for a lot of traffic to move through these smart plugs (unless there is a security concern). That is why 5 GHz smart plugs aren’t available and probably never will be.

How do I test 2.4 GHz WiFi?
Navigate to the Settings menu and choose Wi-Fi to confirm that your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. You may view all of the local networks that can be detected in this menu. Find your network’s SSID; it should be indicated by a 2G (2.4) or 5G (5) end notation.

Can 2.4 GHz devices support 5 GHz WiFi?
Smart gadgets are programmed to operate at 2.4 GHz and cannot connect to and operate at 5 GHz. The 2.4 GHz frequency spectrum has a greater range than the 5 GHz frequency band but carries less information.

What 2.4 GHz drawbacks are there?
A 2.4 GHz offers the benefit of a longer range and a stronger ability to penetrate solid things. However, it has the drawback of being more susceptible to interference. That’s because it’s slower than 5 GHz and so many other gadgets utilize the same spectrum.

Is it necessary to switch off 2.4 GHz?
It’s not necessarily advantageous to have more radio frequency (RF), especially if it’s 2.4 GHz RF. In reality, increasing the number of access points might reduce WLAN performance. I’ll discuss why you should turn off the majority of 2.4 GHz radios to prevent channel overlap and start creating 5 GHz wireless networks for better WiFi performance in this post.

How can I strengthen my 2.4 GHz?
To accomplish this, go to your router’s admin menu and click the Wireless or Network settings option. You should see channel options in the same place as you modified your band settings. If Automatic is your default option, change it to one of the following channels: regards to the 2.4GHz network

Are smart plugs remotely controllable?
Yes, it is the solution. You can remotely manage your household appliances using smart plugs. When you’re gone from home and remember you forgot to switch off an appliance, this function is helpful.

Can two phones work together to control smart plugs?
A: In fact, you may use two or more devices to operate the smart plugs. You must, however, utilize the same account login across all of your devices since you cannot have numerous accounts controlling the same smart plugs.
