Whatever your flying skill level, the DJI Mini 3 Pro has something for you. We’ve covered everything from entry-level devices to professional gear, as well as the most recent DJI releases. We also keep our buying advice up to date when new DJI drones arrive on the market. So whether you want to make videos, take photos, or simply fly around, your ideal drone is waiting for you below.

The launch of the DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone in 2022 has caused us to reconsider the Air 2S’ previous place at the top of Best DJI Drones. In every practical category, it manages to provide the same or better specifications. The sensor isn’t as large, but the camera can be flipped to portrait mode, and the drone (with a standard battery) weighs only 249g. With a sensor roughly 0.8 inches across the diagonal and dual native ISO, the camera provides superb low-light footage, at least at frame rates up to 30 frames per second.

Mini Portable Size

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is a pocket-sized, mega-capable drone that is both powerful and portable. It is not only regulation-compliant but also the safest in its series, weighing less than 249 g and including enhanced safety measures. It redefines what it means to fly Mini with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and top-tier functionality.

Air Time

With a flying length of up to 34 minutes, you may capture and explore more of your surroundings. The Intelligent Flight Battery for the DJI Mini 3 Pro is ultra-lightweight and powerful enough to meet your aerial photography needs.

DJI Mini 3 Pro’s Controller

The DJI Mini 3 Pro boasts the typical DJI Mavic family appearance with its folding form and light grey color. The Mini 3 Pro, on the other hand, is noticeably more rounded than the DJI Mini 2, which has sleek, Lamborghini Countach-Esque lines like other Mavic models.

The incorporation of obstacle sensors and rounded gimbal mounts adds to the more curvy appearance, while other design modifications include more aerodynamic propellor arms and propellors that are larger than those used by the Mini 2 to aid enhance flying times.

Picture Quality of DJI Mini 3 Pro

The addition of 48MP shooting to the camera’s capabilities is certainly nice, albeit you won’t be able to use AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing), Burst, or Timed Shot modes when in this mode. When you utilize these, the resolution is set to the normal 12.1MP, but you can increase the size of these raw files using Adobe’s Super Resolution in Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw if necessary.

The camera, which has a big 1/1.3-type CMOS sensor and a fixed 24mm f/1.7 lens, can capture up to 48-megapixel photos. Nonetheless, the photographs are 12 megapixels in single-frame mode. Overall, image quality is excellent, with excellent dynamic range and noise reduction. Whether shooting in RAW or JPEG, colors appear fantastic right out of the camera.

Video Quality of DJI Mini 3 Pro

Overall, the Mini 3 Pro captures excellent video. Because ND (neutral density) filters were unavailable at the time, the movies taken for our tests were shot without them. Because of the quick shutter rates required to balance exposure against the fast f/1.7 fixed aperture, the 4K footage is a touch choppy.

A digital zoom option is also available, which gives 2x zoom at 4K resolution, 3x zoom at 2.7K, and 4x zoom at FHD. Because of the loss of quality, this should only be used sparingly, however, FHD delivers the greatest results up to 2x zoom.

There are three video resolutions available: 4K (up to 60p), 2.7K (up to 60p), and FHD (up to 120p). When shot at 120 frames per second, the latter produce slow-motion video. The Mini 3 Pro is designed for both amateur and professional video capture, with a maximum video bitrate of 150Mbps and color profiles of Normal and D-Cinelike.

What’s New? ActiveTrack 4.0

Quickshots are back on the Mini 3 Pro, but Master shots and Active Track are new to DJI’s sub-250 drone portfolio. Keeping the subject in focus, whether it’s a person, a bike, or an automobile.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro is a significant advance to the Miniseries, and it is now the best mini drone available.
