FAQs

What distinguishes AirPods (3rd generation) from AirPod Pro?

The main difference is listening duration, which is 6 hours for the third generation and 4.5 hours for the pro. (A significant distinction in my view.) The third generation also lacks rubber tips with noise suppression (a software feature that obviously uses more battery power, hence the battery usage difference.) If you value either of these characteristics.

Will they be simple to lose when running? I mostly want them for that purpose.

Since they are thicker than the previous ones, they fall out fairly quickly. I had to firmly press them in, but after a while, they relax and fall out with the slightest nod.

Are these AirPods active noise-canceling devices?

Since your ears don’t have a seal, there is no active noise cancellation. They do, however, have excellent audio quality. I would choose the Airpod Pros if you’re seeking noise canceling.

Does anyone have an iPhone 7?

It works well on my iPhone 8 Plus, therefore I assume it will also on an iPhone 7. You probably, need to confirm that the most recent iOS is installed on your phone. My research shows that the iPhone 7 can install iOS 15.

I discovered that using Google Voice, I had to switch between the ap3 and phone apps while on a call in order for the other side to hear me.

My guess is that it’s not an iPhone, which is why. Since I had an android phone when I initially received my set of AirPods, utilizing them wasn’t as simple as it is now that they are most compatible with other iPhone accessories, etc. Just because of your phone, the uses are constrained. I guarantee that neither they nor your phone is broken.

Can one earbud be linked to a separate device while the other is still attached if I go outside the Bluetooth range?

I don’t think the AirPods will let you do that, to be honest. The individual AirPods cannot, as I seem to recall, pair with a different device. To link with a different device, you must have the AirPods in their charging case. The second AirPods may no longer pair with the original device if you do that.

Would a 10-year-old fit in them?

Probably not, as they don’t come with silicone fittings, and they would still be somewhat too large for his ears. The second generation is better since they more closely resemble earphones and feature interchangeable tips.

Can I do laps in a pool while wearing these third-generation AirPods?

Although they do a better job of staying in than previous models, why take the chance of losing them in a pool when there are so many much more affordable (or pricey and just as high-quality) types that lock over the ear, which you would almost definitely never lose? Not to mention that the AirPod might not float and if it does not if it is water-resistant enough to live on the pool floor!

How does noise canceling work?

Unlike with professional equipment, there is no active noise canceling. However, they may get rather loud and block out the outside world. At around 3/4 volume, there is some sound leaking, but it is not overly loud.

Are they acoustically superior to the Air Pods Pro?

I would suggest that both versions use the same high excursion driver, which would explain why the sound quality is comparable between them. The Pro model only differs in that it has an in-ear design for enhanced passive noise isolation.

Does the quality match when using an Android phone?

They probably work on any gadget, including those that aren’t made by Apple. You may look it up on Google and discover a tutorial from Apple that explains how to link it to non-Apple items, ensuring that the quality will be the same whether it is connected to an Android phone.

Exists a way to check the battery life of the charging case or the AirPods?

If you open the case close to your phone, the phone displays the charge status and battery life percentage. I believe the iPhone has a power widget that displays all of your connected Apple gadgets.

Is there a noise cancellation or transparency mode?

I think I read that if you put these completely within your ears, they do provide noise cancellation. Adjust your hearing to the room, it says. Although I’ve given it a shot and it appears to work, I’d go to Apple and double-check. You may read in detail about how they work and make your decision from there. For me, Costco had the greatest deal and warranty. They didn’t have the pro there last night, so I grabbed the three instead after they advised I get them from Costco.com. If you’re a member, the price is simply $139 for model 3 and there’s no need for a care plan because the guarantee is outstanding.

Does it come with a charger?

Only the USB-C cable is supplied; no charger is included. The size of the earbud is something to consider before you buy. If you presently have an airpod 1 or 2 and they fit well, the new model will feel different because it is much larger. It was too big for my ears, and after only a few minutes of wearing it, it began to damage my ear’s cartilage. I ultimately had to return it.

This was “used-like new” when I ordered it, however, it was missing the papers. Can someone confirm if a warranty and/or product information should be enclosed?

I got my brand new, so I don’t know. For a response, I would speak with Amazon support. I would assume that there would be some papers, but when you buy secondhand, you never know. My own had to be returned since the case wasn’t charging. There should be a help button when you return to your initial order. Try it. Good luck; the prices are too high to not receive what you paid for. They did offer a replacement as they stood by my purchase.
